After two years in the Masters of Management Sciences, with one semester on exchange in Brazil, I had the wonderful opportunity to do my last study year in an apprenticeship. I looked for a contract in finance in a big industrial and international company, because to me it was important to have a good reference before entering the job market. That is the reason why I joined Sanofi in their Management Control department, more precisely as a Financial Officer of Industrial Affairs. I learnt a great deal not only about human interaction but also on a technical level as well. Moreover, I gained a rich experience, which has great value in the labour market. I had the opportunity to work with managers who involved me, trusted me and gave me real responsibilities. In this international environment, I had the inspiring force to show my skills. The long-term projects given to me, the integration in the department, and the will of good cooperation from both sides, helped in the success of this apprenticeship year. This year was intense and demanding, but it was a really great experience particularly because it was an apprenticeship and not an internship. After my apprenticeship, Sanofi has extended my contract and sent me to experience International Volunteering in Boston, the world capital for the pharmaceutical industry. Currently I work there. In hindsight, there are only benefits to apprenticeship. And if you know how to take advantage of it, it is a perfect counterpart to the Masters of Management Sciences.
